10 Ideas to Get More Website Traffic (View all Services)

If you have a business, then there is a pretty good chance that you have a website. If that’s the case, then you probably wouldn’t mind more traffic to your site. There are many ways you can get more visitors to your website, some are easy and some are complex. No matter what you are doing to get traffic, you can always do more.

Understand how your clients search

It’s very important that you know what your ideal client would type into search engines to find a company like yours. Are they going to use a word to localize the search (like a city name)? Will they search for a well known brand name? Will they search using proper English or will they use a hip slangy term? It is vital that you hone in on the correct keywords and/or phrases that your clients will type in, not what you think they might type in.

Go after your competitors searchers

You may not have considered it, but you can go after people that are searching for your competitors. Use a competitor’s success against them by going after search terms users may type in to find them. I know I would want to show up on a search for my competitor, at least you will have a chance of being seen by that person and you might get that business.

Code Optimization

Did you know that even though your website looks great and loads really well that you still might not have the proper coding on your site? It’s true and something a lot of companies overlook. Your site should be coded as very strict CSS, if it isn’t, you are not getting traffic that you should be.

Your copy should be written for Search Engines

Don’t assume that just because you wrote copy and you sprinkled in a few keywords that you’ve written for search engines. Did you know that you get more points for making headings bold? If you use keywords in the proper manner and put them in the right places you will get all the possible benefits (or points) out of them.

Geo Targeting

You need to know where your target market is and market to them accordingly. So, if you your clients are local, why would you waste your resources going after potential clients in other areas? Include city names or words that people from the area would use to localize your search phrases.

Don’t underestimate the power of pay per click

If you can get ranked very high organically in the search engines, that is the mountain top. But what if you can’t? Or what if the search engines change the criteria in which they rank websites (they do it all the time) and your website falls into obscurity? You have to have a backup plan and one thing you can do is a pay per click campaign. This is something that you can do that gives you phenomenal targeting capabilities if it’s done properly.

Go global

Come up with a marketing campaign that appeals to the masses. Whether it is a video or content, plug it into the proper channels and let the people share your content over and over again. Other than getting the company name out there, it also gives you a huge boost in your search engine optimization with all the links coming back to your website.

Blog until you can’t blog anymore

A good blog should be updated daily and can give you a huge boost in search engine optimization if done correct. When you blog, you accomplish a couple of things: first, you give your website fresh content (which search engines love!) and second, you also give yourself a platform to be an expert or an authority on a certain topic. The ability to write well and give good information guarantees major credibility.

Tracking and tweaking

Whatever you decide to do to get more traffic, you can’t just do it and never look at it again with the hope it's going to perform well. It requires you to constantly monitor the traffic, understand where the traffic is coming from and why, then make the proper adjustments accordingly (wash, rinse and repeat).
